#ldsface2face with the Piano guys

background of edit from @tamiamusic

For those of you who didn't know, there was a broadcast on this past Tuesday with the Piano Guys. And if you've never heard of the Piano Guys, I'm sorry, but we can't be friends. JUST KIDDING! But honestly, you have to go look their music up. Or even better, watch the broadcast here. They are so talented, and they don't just play the piano, they also play the cello amongst other intruments. I love their albums.

For mutual (a church youth activity held every week) this past Tuesday, all the Young Women met together to watch the broadcast. It was so fun, and there were so many yummy treats! One of the leaders made this delicious popcorn that had melted vanilla almond bark on it with Halloween-colored sprinkles. I seriously had AT LEAST 15 cups full of it. Along with a lot of M&Ms. No shame.

Anyways, the broadcast was great! Even though a lot of the girls were loud and I couldn't hear very well. In fact I had to sit basically on top of the TV to hear. I can't express how much happier I've been this past week. It's crazy! That broadcast had some things I really needed to hear, too. I just find it truly amazing how these talented guys have totally given up their wills to God. It's so inspiring! And the love they expressed for their wives, dang. Goals.

They also played a new arrangement towards the end of the interviews, which was absolutely gorgeous. The Spirit was so strong and watching them play is wonderful. I swear I can see the happiness and light emanating from them. It is incredible. I really want to see them live one day.

A few specific points that stuck out to be were:

  • Our differences are supposed to be celebrated, not calculated. We should try and not be jealous of others' talents, but embrace them. Congratulate them. We can all contribute to this world in one way or the other, and we were all blessed with gifts.
  • We should pray for opportunities to use these said gifts that God has given us in order to make a difference in someone's life.
  • ANY negative thoughts are not virtuous thoughts. This surprised me, I hadn't even thought about it. But yeah, thinking badly about yourself is no bueno.
  • God is ALWAYS there for you. No matter what. And if we give our will and life to Him, we will get so much more out of our lives and we could ever do alone.

They also promised that reading the scriptures in the morning makes such a difference and will start your day off "wonderfully." And this may sound weird, but during the broadcast I got the prompting to clean my room. Something about "cleanliness is next to Godliness." Also, I suddenly have the strange urge to become an amazing piano player, preferably overnight. Crazy!

But I guess I know what I will be working on this weekend...

    Have a great night!

    1. I loved it too! I'm so glad this post was able to remind you of some things. A lot of the things I mentioned were things I had scribbled down in my notes on my phone while listening because they made such big impressions! Thanks so much for commenting, Shelby! :)
